haciendaparaiso940x320 Museum Paradise Hacienda, located 22 miles north of Cali in the village of Santa Helena, is one of the most important icons in the Valle del Cauca culture.

It is known worldwide since the story of Mary, written by Jorge Isaacs, took place here, it was an outstanding work in the Colombian and Latin American literature.

Built between 1816 and 1828 by the former mayor of Cali Victor Cabal, the Hacienda was sold several times until  April 18th , 1953 when it was acquired by the Department of Valle del Cauca and that's when the first restoration was done by the artist Luis Alberto Acuña in 1954. On December 30th, 1959 it was declared a national monument for its contribution to national literature.

Here at the Museum Paradise Hacienda you can relive the wonderful story that Mary and Ephraim lived, surrounded by lush full trees and roses that Mary took care of for so long, the tour continues throughout the rooms where the imagination recreates the customary ways of the XIX century.

Schedule as follows: Tuesdays through Sundays and holidays from 9:00 am. to 4:00 pm. The museum will be closed every Tuesday after a holiday.

As additional services we can point out the project to build a touristic farm that will have lakes for fish farming, hiking trails decorated with fruit and forest trees, there is also a souvenir shop, photo studio for vintage pictures, a cafe and secure parking lots.
