In the Town of Nimaima you can live a touristic adventure doing  activities like nature walks, rafting, cannoning, abseiling, canopying  and horseback riding.

No need to be an expert in extreme sports because there are guides  that have been practicing these sports for over 10 years, who will give visitors the confidence to do any activities.

Take a chance to get to know yourself better, put your mind at ease, balance your, heart and body, trust in yourself  and our  guides, let fear and risk take over for a moment, experience vertigo, adrenaline, and the will to live, to dream, and get rid of  all the negative energies while  enjoying nature.

Canyoning is to enter the rocky canyons, rivers and waterfalls that are in the county, is being in direct contact with cold water, clean and pure that runs straight down from the mountains.

This sport is fun because there are obstacles, like jumping off a rock into the deep water between some rocks, climb down moldy paths and experience similar obstacles. The ultimate prize is to swim in these waters.

You must bring a change of clothes and shoes that can get wet. This sport can be done in three places: Cascada "barandillas”(rails) Charco "los curas”(Priests)", The Barber "Pozo Azul" and the Well "Las Golondrinas." The price per person is 15,000 pesos $ 7 USD to any destination.

Other extreme sports are abseiling and canyoning, which are intended to experience vertigo to the max, says Alex, our guide, "here all the animals die of stomach pains." Meaning it is very extreme.

Our guide puts safety equipment on you, then hold you by a safety line until you are ready to down and he will lower you into the  an abyss surrounded by beautiful countryside.

This sport can be done in three places that are part of the town of Nimaima: the first is higher than 247 feet high and has a cost of $ 70,000 COP ($35 USD) the second is 154 feet high and costs $ 50,000COP ($25 USD)and third is 82 feet  for $ 40,000COP ($20 USD).

Additionally there is rafting, canoe or boat tour of wild and mighty rivers. It is not necessary to know how to swim, because a live vest will be provided. First the guide explains how to paddle and communicate using keywords to be used while in the river. Later a test run is given, after giving indications it may be that this first time you will get very wet and also might drink water accidently. Then begins the river adventure, there are  deep spots that, allow you to do all sorts of activities. It really is great fun, water currents can overthrow the raft, but be careful not to hit with a rock.

The final test consists of jumping off a bridge that measures approximately 60 feet high to the depths of the river, but it sure seems risky because it is guarded by experts. This sport is done in the Black River "Paso del rejo - Tobia," it lasts 40 minutes and costs $ 35,000 COP($17 USD) per person, or "Salinas - Tobia" is a little long and takes about 90 minutes and is worth $ 45,000COP ($23 USD).

To relax, you can horseback ride around  Nimaima or Tobia and see landscapes that make this town a natural relic. You can make trips of two hours at the "Quebrada El Palmar", "La Salina" or "Forest Reserve" for $ 40,000COP ($20USD).

Finally, you can go camping for direct contact with nature, but remember to respect the space and care for nature. The night per person, including tent will costs $ 13,000COP($6 USD) and $ 10,000COP ($5USD) with no tent.

Nimaima town is located an hour and a half from Bogotá on the way to the Vega and  can be reached by public or private transportation. Extreme sports are for children aged 8 and above and for people without health problems such as heart or hypertensive conditions.
