San Andres is a Department of Colombia, made of keys, islands and islets. It is one of the favorite places for holidays given that there you find the most beautiful beaches of Colombia and some of the best in America. With 67,763 inhabitants spread within 44 square kilometers, it is considered the Department with the highest population density (1,540 inhabitants per square meter and 350,000 square kilometers of ocean).
The archipelago only has one municipality, Providencia, and its capital is San Andres. Tourism and commerce represent the main source of income. Natives are very persistent when they want to sell something so one has to be careful when you accept a free sample or when you look at something because they might not leave you alone until you buy it.
